Johansen IAS
This is a home-based listening programme that can be tailor made to the child or young person. The programme is not related to deafness, but to the ability to listen. Some people may have already been diagnosed with an Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) or have a component of this within their profile. Johansen aims to work at the problems that underlie speech and language difficulties in order to achieve a better outcome for the young person.
If your child has had difficulties with:
- Glue ear (past or current)
- Learning phonics for reading/ literacy
- Following instructions in noisy backgrounds
- Attention
- Memory
- Anxiety
Then a Johansen specialist assessment may be of benefit.
Tailored Speech and Language Therapy is usually offered alongside Johansen IAS.
